The Directorate of Education, Delhi will start the application process for admission in classes from June 11 – 6 to 9 tomorrow, the application process will be taken digitally due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. This year, admission will be taken in two stages. The first phase will be held from June 11 to 30 and the results will be announced on July 4.
The second session of admission in government schools in Delhi will be held from July 23 to August 3, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said in a virtual press briefing.
The online registration form will be available on the evening of June 11 at www.edudel.nic.in. For the class of 6th classes, admission will be given to the children who have passed the previous class as well as the children who are not coming to school. Students who have passed 8th from a recognized institution in class 9 are eligible to apply.
On an average, more than 2 lakh students apply for admission in government schools in Delhi every year. Last year too, the Delhi government had admitted 6-9 and 11th class in two phases. The second phase was held for those who could not get a seat or apply during the first phase.
Meanwhile, students who are currently in classes 9 and 11, the Delhi government has canceled the final year examination and students will be assessed on the basis of their performance in mid-term.
