Retiring from previous practice, the Indian Institute of Management and Management (IIM), Calcutta has organized a Virtual City Meet for a new batch of students through Zoom this year following the epidemic situation. Traditionally, these annual city meetings are physically held for children coming from all over India where new students have the opportunity to interact with current students, eminent alumni and their future batch peers.

It gives them an understanding of the life that awaits in Joka. Last year the city meet also took place in viral mode due to the coronavirus epidemic.

A total of 480 participants recently attended these meetings, including incoming batch, current batch and distinguished alumni, IIM-CA said on Friday. The Mets were organized by IIM (C) External Relations Cell in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Each city has a large number of current hosts who welcomed all participants and encouraged conversations. Distinguished alumni of various classes were also seen participating in the meeting.

This was followed by a presentation by IIM Calcutta and its rich history, exemplary academic teaching and legendary alumni. Apart from this, for more individual interaction, breakout rooms were created where students ask their questions in their group environment.

“We are grateful to all the students, our teammates and the esteemed alumni for making this city a huge success with their presence,” said Sudhansh Jayant and Vidisha Mishra, ER Cell Secretaries, IIM Calcutta. .
