The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) is likely to delay the results of the 12th standard board exam, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic. A committee has been constituted by the school education department to prepare the results of standard 12 on the basis of the performance of the students in the standard 10, 11 annual and class 12 half-yearly examinations.
Now, the panel is having difficulty in preparing the results as the schools have not prepared the 11th standard marksheets of about 1.25 lakh students. According to the information received, out of 1,000.5 lakh students, more than 35,000 students are from Bhopal, whose 11th class results are not ready yet.
In the academic session 2019-20, class 20 students were given 12th class without examination for the 2020-21 academic session. Instead of a list of marks against each subject in the marksheet, the schools affiliated with the board marked “General Promotion” in the result of result 11 in the annual examination program. In the marksheet, it was mentioned that the students are getting bad due to COVD-19 epidemic.
The school education department will consider another formula as the committee is facing difficulties in preparing the result due to the availability of class 11 marks. The committee of experts will make suggestions to the group of ministers overseeing the committee. Later, another formula for score calculation will be decided to prepare the result.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that any student of class 12 who is not happy or satisfied with the allotted marks and wants to appear for the examination for improving the marks, will be allowed to appear in the examination as the situation normalizes.
On June 2, Chauhan announced the cancellation of the 12th Parliamentary Board exams this year, saying, “Our children’s lives are precious, we will think about their careers later.”
