The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) of Odisha today announced the results of Std 10 for the academic year 2020-21, adopting an alternative method of assessment as the examination was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic.

According to BSE, 97.89% pass percentage has been registered in standard 10, a total of 5,74,125 students have appeared for the exam. While the percentage of alumni in the state is 88%.

The results have been announced after the approval of the Board’s Examination Committee, which adopts an alternative method of assessment adopted by the Board, which includes Class 9 performance and Class 10 pre-board examination and those who are not happy with the result can apply for re-evaluation on July 5.

The BSE has canceled Class 10 board exams on April 21 due to an increase in coronavirus cases in the state, after the board announced an alternative method of assessment to give marks to standard 10 students in the first week of May.

Meanwhile, the number of coronaviruses in Odisha rose to 8,93,508 on Friday as 2,912 more people tested positive for the infection, while 40 fresh deaths brought the number of coronavirus deaths in the state to 3,801, a health official said.

The disease recovered 3, 48, 3,6 more people, bringing the total number of recovery to 56,4988.

The number of daily positive cases dropped below 20,000,000 for the second time in four days. The previous low of 2,957 cases was reported on June 22.

In Odisha, there are now 33,166 active cases, while the daily test positivity rate (TPR) has gone below five per cent, he said.
