New Delhi : India should postpone implementation of new national education policy for a year and vaccinate all students and teachers on priority basis, National Federation of Professors demanded on Friday.

The All India Federation University and College Teachers’ Organization (AIFUCO) said that the authorities need to discuss the implementation of NEP with teachers and all office bearers, including the federation.

Earlier this week, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhri tweeted: “National education policy is on the fast track … nationwide implementation starts from June.”

The National Vaccine Policy was called for by the Federation of Professors and “all teachers, staff and students of educational institutions should be vaccinated on priority basis from KG to PG”.

It also demanded regular pay and medical benefits for all part-time, ad-hoc and contract teachers, similar to the permanent staff during the current crisis.

It also demanded exemption of students from all types of collections including examination fees and urged the University Grants Commission and the Central Government not to conduct any examinations including online examinations and classes till June 30. “Any other things,” he said.
