The state government on Wednesday announced that schools in Uttarakhand will be reopened from July 1 through mode online mode. The decision has been taken by the state government in view of the COVID-19 epidemic. The summer vacation of students in government, semi-government and private schools ended today.

Kovid curfew extended in Uttarakhand

Meanwhile, the state government has also extended the cove curfew in the state till July 6 with further leeway. The extended curfew, which came into force on Tuesday, will remain in force till 6 am on July 6, Chief Secretary Om Prakash said in an order issued on Tuesday.

By giving more concessions, shops and business establishments are allowed to open six days a week instead of five.

They will also be open on Sunday at two popular tourist destinations in Mussoorie and Nainital, the order said. Markets in these towns will be closed on Tuesday.

Gym and coaching centers have also been allowed to be opened for job seekers with Asp0 per cent occupation.

However, educational institutions, training institutes, malls and cinema halls will remain closed till the next order.

Hotels, restaurants and roadside meal plans can open with up to 50 percent of their capacity.

The COVID test is mandatory to enter the state

Registering on the Smart City portal at the beginning of their journey and bringing a negative RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test report for more than an hour will be mandatory for those coming from outside the state or those traveling from the plains to mountainous areas.

According to figures released by the Union Health Ministry, there are 2,245 active cases of Kovid-19 in Uttarakhand. Since the outbreak began last year, there have been 3,30,593 recoveries and 7,095 deaths in the state.
