A section of students seeking postponement of CA examination has also approached the Supreme Court seeking adjournment, for those who do not wish to appear for the examination on the date suggested by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) – Put-out option – Examination Planning Institute .
The petition has been filed before the Supreme Court on behalf of the students with the help of child rights activist, Anubha Srivastava. The ICA Chartered Accountant (CA) exam is scheduled to start from July 5.
In the application, the students have assured the SC that at least one examination center should be set up in each district so that no more than 500 students can be allotted in one center. The examination centers in this application also demand stand-by examination centers if a particular area falls under the content zone during the examination.
The application also seeks additional opportunity for candidates appearing for the intermediate and final examinations under the old syllabus.
The petition also sought formulation and implementation of the specific Covid-19 guidelines specified by the Home Ministry for CA examinations.
Sahi’s application also sought guidelines for declaration of results by ICAI with a specific period of at least seven days from the commencement of the next examination.
