After the 10th and 12th board exams were canceled due to the Covid-19 situation in the country, the students were very worried about the criteria and results of their assessment.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced earlier this week that it would use the parameters to announce the results of the exam.

For students dissatisfied with this method, it is also given an opportunity to appear in the examination when the conditions are favorable. The CBSE told the apex court that, as per the policy, the marks obtained in the subsequent examination would be considered final.

But questions remain about the exact timeline of the physical exam.

Now, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhari has clarified and said that if the Kovid-19 cases continue to show the following trend, the students are ready to take their exams in August.

Talking to students on Friday, Pokhriyal said they were constantly getting a lot of messages and questions. To end all speculation he shared a message on his official Twitter handle.

The CBSE also filed an additional affidavit before the SC this week stating that the Class 12 board exams would be held temporarily between August 12 and September 15.

According to the board, the examinations will be conducted by the board only in the major subjects, when and when the conditions for conducting the examinations are favorable.

It further states that it includes a clause by which the dispute over the calculation of the result will be referred to a committee constituted by the Board.

Calculation of class 10,12 marks examinations

The CBSE has announced that for Class 10, officers will get 40% marks from pre-board examinations, 30% marks from half-year or mid-term examinations, 20% marks from internal assessment conducted by schools and 10% periodic unit tests.

For Class 12, it is said that about 40% marks will be based on pre-board exams or unit tests, while Class 10 and 11 will be 30% of each mark.

The Board will adopt the 30:30:40 formula for evaluating Class 12 students based on the results of the 10th, 11th and 12th examinations respectively.

Next, marks for practical exams or internal assessment will be on real basis, i.e. uploaded by the school on CBSE website.

The marks of the best three subjects out of five will be considered for both class 10 and class 12 students.

The results of class 12 will be declared by July 31 and the result of class 10 will be declared by July 20.
